Happy October Bullpup Families!

October is off to a quick and busy start!  Believe it or not, this is the final week of Quarter 1 with the grading period coming to a close on Friday, 10/9.💫  Please make sure your Bullpup wraps up the quarter successfully by making sure all assignments are turned in, communications followed through on, and using the support of Academic Success at lunch or Attendance Recovery after school on Tuesday and Thursday. (See this message form Ms. Patty for more info).

This week we kicked off our Fall Spirit Week in tandem with Alhambra’s homecoming week.🐾 We invite our Bullpups to join in on the fun of each themed day! A few important details about Friday’s events:
  • Please note that we will follow our regular schedule this week with release at 2:36pm on Friday.
  • The MJHS Band, PTSA float, and MYF students all plan to fold into the parade from Martinez City Hall- just a quick 5 minute walk from MJHS.
  • The parade does not leave AHS until 3pm, there is plenty of time for our Bullpups to get down to City Hall / Main St!
  • Early release is not necessary. However, if you plan to pick-up before the end of the day, please call ahead of time to limit disruptions to learning.
We hope that all enjoy the amazing and special tradition of homecoming in Martinez!  Please be sure to check in with your student(s) around reminders to be respectful in our community, focus on the spirit of homecoming, and being their best Bullpups at the parade, game and always!💙

Finally, a reminder that there is no school on Monday, 10/12, as it is a Professional Development Day for MUSD.

Happy Homecoming,
Ms. Cusack

🍪 ASB Fundraiser Pick-Up

Tomorrow, 10/7, is the day to pick up ALL items ordered through the ASB Otis Spunkmeyer fundraiser.

We will be distributing items from 1-6pm out of A-101 (back door of the drama room / left side of the A building).

ALL items MUST be picked tomorrow. Prizes will be passed out directly to students throughout the remainder of this week.

A Little Traffic Courtesy Goes a Long Way! 🚙

We know drop-off and pick-up can be busy, so thank you for helping us keep things moving safely and smoothly! A few friendly reminders:
  • Pull all the way forward — every car that moves up helps us fit more cars and get more kids safely unloaded.
  • Be ready to unload —  make sure that your Bullpups are prepping and are ready to hop out quickly and safely.
  • Be kind to our neighbors and each other. Please skip the honking and make sure driveways stay clear.
  • Stick with the traffic flow/directions. Creating a new pathway may seem quicker, but it can cause confusion and unexpected safety issues.
  • Slow down and be safe. Our most important priority is making sure our students get where they need to go safely.
Thank you for your patience, kindness, and teamwork! We’re all part of the same school community and want to make sure our Bullpups are safe. 💙

Traffic Study Interactive Map — Now Open for Public Comment

The City of Martinez is inviting families, staff, and community members to review our Traffic Study Interactive Map and share their feedback.

The interactive map provides an easy way to explore current traffic patterns and school access, including walking and biking routes, drop-off and pick-up areas, crosswalks, traffic signals, stop signs, and other important safety features around our school.

Your input matters. Please take a few minutes to explore the map and let us know what you see, what is working well, and where you think improvements may be needed. Your feedback will help inform the school’s ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow, safety, and access for students and families.
View the interactive map and provide your comments: https://user.schoolroutes.org/map.php?s=153
