Hello Bullpup Families,

Our four-day week flew by, so I wanted to be sure to connect with you all today about some important school info, reminders, and upcoming events!

Thank you to all who made it to our Back-to-School night week before last. 🐾 It was so nice to see a jam-packed Auditorium, the campus bustling with families navigating their students schedule, and our teachers in action sharing all the good things to come this year! In case you missed it or were unable to hear from where you were, below is a recap of my welcome presentation that I wanted to share with all. (Video accessible below)

An important reminder as we start this week is to please be sure to check in with your student(s) and the Aeries Portal as our first grading window, Q1 Progress Reports, will be available for your review on Thursday, 9/17.

Additionally, you will find more details and information in this newsletter on how to get involved at MJHS including:
  • site and district committees
  • upcoming association meetings
  • family information & support night
  • support for classroom and programs
  • process for volunteers

Finally, as we quickly approach the halfway mark of September, be sure to mark your calendars with all the events ahead!

Take Care,
Ms. Cusack

School Site Council Members Needed!

We have three family seats open on our School Site Council and one Curriculum Advisory Council (CAC) at the district.

The School Site Council serves as the school community representative body for determining the focus of the school’s academic instructional program and all related resources.
We work to foster a council where the joint effort of families, teachers, school staff, administrators work together for the success of all students.  Please note that we meet virtually at 3:15pm five times a year.

This is a two-year commitment and if you are interested in joining, please complete this Google Form no later than Thursday, 9/17.

If you are interested in joining the CAC, please let me know via email asap!  The first meeting is this Wednesday, 9/16 at 3:15pm

MUSD Bridge to College Program

The MUSD Bridge to College Program is a TK-12 initiative designed to help our students and families explore higher education options together!
Through this program, students and families will visit four different types of higher education institutions—a Community College, a California State University (CSU), a University of California (UC), and a Private University—to discover the unique opportunities each campus offers. Transportation and meals will be provided for all attendees. See more details shared in the ParentSquare email sent on 9/8/26.
How to Sign Up: If you are interested in joining us, please complete our Bridge to College Interest Form linked here. To be considered for the first trip on October 19, your form must be submitted by September 25, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
