MUSD Community,
The California Department of Education (CDE) published the 2025 California Dashboard showing that students continue to see improved outcomes across all key indicators of student success.
The 2025 Dashboard shows that:
- California’s graduation rate has continued to make steady, modest progress and is now at its highest since the launch of the California School Dashboard in 2017 87.5 percent, up 4.5 percent since 2017.
- College and career readiness has also increased by 3.1 percentage points statewide. More than 50 percent of graduates statewide who were prepared for college and career by their high school graduates met California’s A-G course requirements, which is the uniform minimum set of courses required for admission to California public universities.
- While the rate of chronic absenteeism for TK–8 students continue to improve, the 2025 overall reduction in chronic absenteeism is 1 percentage point since 2024. The slowing of this statewide improvement indicates there is strategic work to be done to successfully reengage the students and families who remain chronically absent.
MUSD Student Assessment Highlights: 2024–2025
We are pleased to share that student assessment data reflects improvement across all academic areas: English Language Arts scores increased by 6.5 points, placing the performance indicator in the green section of the scale, signifying high performance. Mathematic scores rose by 4.1 points, also landing in the green section. English Learners showed a 7.5% improvement, with performance again in the green section. College and Career Readiness increased by 3.2%, maintaining a green performance level. Additionally, MUSD sustained a strong graduation rate of 95.1%, reflecting our ongoing commitment to student success.
However, chronic absenteeism remains an area of concern. The indicator for this measure fell into the orange section of the scale, which signifies low performance. We recognize the importance of regular attendance and will be sharing more information soon about our strategic efforts to improve student engagement and attendance.
We remain committed to fostering continued academic growth and success for all students.
Thanksgiving Holiday:
“Wishing everyone a restful and joyful Thanksgiving holiday! May your time be filled with gratitude, warmth, and special moments with loved ones.”
